Firm History
In 1935, Paul H. Rhoads and John Fox Weiss opened offices in the Payne-Shoemaker building for the general practice of law. Paul Rhoads graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Gettysburg College and then studied at the University of Pennsylvania Law School where he served on the Law Review.
He became Deputy Attorney General of the Commonwealth during 1932-1933 under Attoney General William Schnader.
John Fox Weiss was an 1895 graduate of Princeton University. He studied law in a Harrisburg law firm from 1895 to 1898.
He served as District Attorney of Dauphin County from 1905 to 1911 and then moved to the Public Service Commission.
In 1946, Frank Sinon and Paul Rhoads discussed a partnership and the firm name was changed to Weiss Rhoads & Sinon.
Frank Sinon graduated from Penn State University in 1932 and secured a job with the Auditor Genral.
He attended Dickinson Law School and graduated in 1936 after which he went to work as a Pennsylvania Deputy Attorney General under Claude Reno.
The firm was joined by F. Eugene Reader in 1952, who at the time taught at Dickinson Law School.
The firm name changed to Rhoads Sinon & Reader. In the fall of 1975, F. Eugene Reader retired from the firm at the age of 68 and the firm name was changed to Rhoads Sinon & Hendershot.
The name remained until 1984, when the firm named was changed to Rhoads & Sinon.
Like it was in 1935, Rhoads & Sinon continues to be an excellent place for many to devote their professional lives.
