Oil & Gas
The Oil & Gas practice group in conjunction with our Real Estate practice group, is available to represent clients, be they oil and gas companies or residential and commercial landowners, regarding oil and gas issues in this highly specialized industry. The Energy, Utility & Telecommunications practice group is counsel to a wide range of clients in the energy arena, including oil and gas landowners, royalty owners and development companies. We also provide counsel in the areas of state and federal regulatory issues before the State Public Utility Commissions and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), energy technology issues, telecommunications issues and any related litigation matters.
The Energy, Utility & Telecommunications practice group has extensive experience in the natural gas arena, representing ratepayers in 1307(f) gas cost filings and natural gas rate cases before the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, including work on the natural gas restructuring proceedings of Pennsylvania’s local natural gas distribution companies.
Scope of Practice
Such representation may take a variety of forms, ranging from individual client issue resolution to multi-client group representation. The services supported under our Oil & Gas practice include:
- land and title disputes,
- existing and prospective lease evaluation and consulting,
- negotiation in real estate/energy issues with land companies, drilling and exploration companies and utilities,
- working and royalty interest owner disputes,
- third party claims,
- gas purchase contract litigation,
- traditional tort litigation arising from oil and gas operations,
- Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) cases and other regulatory matters, and
- continuing representation for duration of oil & gas lease agreements.
