Red Couch Series Moves to Rhoads & Sinon in January

Harrisburg, Pa. – The American Heart Association and Centric Bank’s Red Couch Series, a project to raise awareness about heart disease in women, will travel to Rhoads & Sinon LLC, 213 Market St., Harrisburg, during the month of January. The project, which is part of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign, made its debut at the Capital Region Heart Walk on Sept. 24 in Hershey and has been in the lobby of Centric Bank on Linglestown Rd. since October.

The public is invited to stop by Rhoads & Sinon to sit on the couch and share a testimonial about what inspires them to live a healthy life or a personal story about how heart disease and stroke has touched their life. The couch will travel to different locations throughout the Harrisburg area through April 1, 2017. Stories and photos from the red couch will be shared on Centric Bank and the American Heart Association, Capital Region Division social media platforms using #CENTRICRedCouch.

Four of the top stories submitted through the Red Couch Series will be selected by Centric Bank leadership to be featured in a video shown at the 2017 Go Red for Women Luncheon, set for Thursday, May 19, 2017, at the West Shore Country Club in Camp Hill. Winners will also receive complimentary tickets to the luncheon.

About Go Red For Women

Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association's national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women because it’s not just a man’s disease. In fact, more women than men die every year from heart disease and stroke. The good news is that 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes. Go Red For Women advocates for more research and swifter action for women's heart health. The American Heart Association's Go Red For Women movement is nationally sponsored by Macy's, with additional support from our cause supporters, including Penn State Hershey Heart and Vascular Institute in the Pennsylvania’s Capital Region area. For more information, please visit GoRedForWomen.org or call 1-888-MY-HEART (1-888-694-3278).
