Charles J. Ferry Receives Statewide Champion of Women In Banking Award

Harrisburg, PA - Charles “Chuck” J. Ferry, Partner, at Rhoads & Sinon LLP, was honored with the inaugural Champion For Women Award at the Pennsylvania Bankers Association’s (PA Bankers’) fourth annual Women in Banking Conference on March 6, 2017.
The Champion For Women Award is part of PA Bankers’ new Women in Banking Recognition of Excellence Program, which is dedicated to honoring men and women in the banking industry who promote and inspire women in the workplace to reach their full potential. The Champion For Women Award celebrates a seasoned male or female professional who through personal commitment, application and dedication, is invested in others, celebrates success in others, and fosters growth to the fullest potential.
In awarding Mr. Ferry the Champion for Women, the judging panel praised Mr. Ferry’s advocacy and sponsorship, stating, “Chuck is a doer. He has been a woman champion in every facet of his life, and goes one level deeper than other supporters.” For more than three decades, Mr. Ferry has served as a trusted mentor and advisor in the banking industry, and in that role, has actively opened his network and made introductions to further the advancement of women.
Mr. Ferry also serves as a mentor, advocate, and sponsor for women within Rhoads & Sinon. He is an active member in Rhoads & Sinon’s Women Empowered (“WE”), which is a group that highlights and supports the success and advancement of women as business and community leaders. Amanda J. Lavis, one of the founders of WE, notes “Chuck’s active participation and attendance at our Women Empowered events, as managing partner, set an example for all of us and made it clear that this initiative had the full support of our firm.”
Chuck Ferry regularly advises financial institutions, corporate clients and other attorneys on a variety of corporate, banking and securities law related issues, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, proxy statement preparation, holding company formation, going private transactions, public and private securities offerings and other 34 Act related compliance. He also has represented investment advisors, broker-dealers and mortgage companies with regard to federal and state registration issues and compliance.
Mr. Ferry has substantial experience with regard to bank mergers and the design and implementation of executive compensation plans, non-deposit investment programs and non-bank activities. He also regularly counsels the boards of directors of financial institutions on general banking issues, bank regulatory matters, and the fiduciary duties and responsibilities of directors under Pennsylvania and Delaware law.
He previously served as Chairman of the Firm's Executive Committee from 1996 to 2016.
