| For the "44 Days for Dr. King" Book Drive, RSVP of the Capital Region Inc. is asking local community members, to help collect books We hope that each site can collect 44 books between January 16th (National Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service) and February 29th. This year marks the 44th anniversary of Dr. Kings assassination, and our forty-four day book drive will commemorate his lifes work and teachings by promoting literacy in Central Pennsylvanias public schools. Collections will take place throughout Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, Adams and Franklin Counties. Volunteer responsibilities include the identification of a site to collect donated books (at your place of work, a community center you frequent, a store you regularly shop at and may have a personal connection to, your church or anywhere else you have in mind). |
