The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority and the Department of Environmental Protection announced that an auction will be held on June 13 for the sale and purchase of nutrient credits in the Susquehanna and Potomac watersheds. During the auction, certified credits will be sold and delivered later to be applied to 2012 and future compliance years. The auction will allow wastewater treatment plants to purchase credits as a way to help meet their nitrogen and phosphorus discharge limits for the compliance years.

PENNVEST anticipates charging buyers and sellers 2.5 cents per credit to offset administrative costs
